Flores’ voice – Kimi Antonelli wrote his name in Formula 1 history after winning the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix. The young Italian racer became the youngest winner in the history of the legendary race on the Monte Carlo street circuit. At the age of 19, Antonelli not only achieved his fifth victory in a row, but also confirmed his dominance with Mercedes this season.
The race was full of drama and several stoppages due to incidents did not disturb Antonelli’s focus. From the start, he was able to maintain the leading position and control the course of the race to the finish line.
“To be honest, I wasn’t too excited about the restart. But once I managed to accelerate, I knew I would secure the first corner and enjoy the rest of the last lap,” said Antonelli after the race.

Antonelli’s victory in Monaco also marked a historic achievement for Italy. He became the first Italian racer since 1952 to achieve five consecutive wins in Formula 1. This record further confirms that Antonelli is not just a young talent, but a potential new icon of world motor racing.
Behind Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton, who is now defending Ferrari, had to settle for finishing in second place. However, Hamilton still expressed appreciation for the champion as well as recognition of Antonelli’s greatness and Mercedes’ dominance which is difficult to match.
“I have to congratulate Kimi and Mercedes. They have delivered an extraordinary car, and Kimi does an extraordinary job every week,” said Hamilton.
Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar completed the podium by finishing in third position, despite experiencing technical problems. Oscar Piastri from McLaren and Liam Lawson from Racing Bulls followed in fourth and fifth positions.

Meanwhile, a number of world champions experienced bad luck. Max Verstappen had to be eliminated due to engine failure, Lando Norris failed to finish due to battery problems, and Sergio Perez was thrown to last place after receiving a penalty. Seven other drivers were even punished for violating the speed limit in the pit lane.
With this victory, Antonelli is now 66 points ahead of Hamilton in the standings. Such a big lead at the start of the season made many people think that Mercedes was on the right track to regain control of Formula 1. However, Antonelli remained humble.
“The task is not finished. This season is still long. We will continue to press and try to improve our performance standards,” he stressed.

At a young age, Antonelli has shown maturity, consistency and courage to face pressure on the biggest stage.
