News Screen – The escalation of war in the Middle East is increasing after Israeli air strikes hit a number of areas in Iran, while strong threats from United States President Donald Trump are worsening the regional geopolitical situation.
Iranian media reported explosions occurred at several points in Tehran and the city of Karaj. The Israeli military confirmed that it was carrying out a wave of air strikes targeting various strategic targets in Iran.
In response, Iran reportedly launched missiles towards Israel, triggering the activation of the country’s air defense system.

In the Gulf region, Saudi Arabia said it had successfully intercepted seven ballistic missiles aimed at the country’s eastern region. Missile debris reportedly fell around power generation facilities.
Meanwhile, the conflict also spread to Iraq. Authorities in Iraqi Kurdistan report two civilians were killed after a drone believed to be from Iran hit their home. Explosions were also heard around Erbil Airport, a location often used by the US-led international coalition.
In the midst of the escalating situation, US President Donald Trump issued strong threats against Iran. He stated that Iran’s vital infrastructure could be paralyzed in a short time if Tehran does not fulfill the ultimatum regarding opening the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran responded to the statement by condemning it as “arrogant rhetoric” and said it would not be swayed by such pressure.
