BUTOLPOST— Tensions in the Middle East are heating up again. The Iranian government firmly rejects the idea of a ceasefire with the United States because it believes it will only be used as a pause to assemble new forces and continue attacks.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baqaei, emphasized that Tehran would not accept a ceasefire without strong guarantees that could prevent war from breaking out again.
“A ceasefire means a pause to rebuild forces to launch new attacks. No rational party will accept that,” Baqaei stressed at a press conference on Monday.
He added that every decision regarding Iran’s national security must ensure that there are no further acts of aggression in the future.

Tensions have increased sharply since the joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28, 2026.
