THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE – Deputy Chairman of Commission I DPR RI Dave Laksono welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. This agreement shows that diplomacy is still the main instrument in reducing conflict.
“This step shows that diplomacy is still the main instrument in reducing conflict, as well as providing hope for stability in the Middle East region,” said Dave in an official statement, Wednesday, April 8 2026.
Dave said peace requires long-term commitment, a willingness to exercise restraint and an agreement to respect international law.

“Indonesia believes that continued negotiations in Islamabad must be used to build a stronger foundation for peace,” he said.
Dave hopes that the ceasefire agreement can have a positive impact on the global energy market. According to him, this momentum is an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation in maintaining trade routes and energy supplies.
“This agreement also has a positive impact on the global energy market, with oil prices dropping significantly. World energy stability certainly has an impact on the Indonesian economy,” he said.
