CIREBON NEWS – For the next two weeks, there will be no sirens warning of missile attacks in the Middle East. This happened after Iran and the United States (US) agreed to a ceasefire.
US President Donald Trump said he would suspend the option of a ground attack on the condition that Tehran agrees to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile Iran said it had accepted a two-week ceasefire, with negotiations due to begin on Friday in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said safe passage through the main waterway would be possible for two weeks through coordination with Iran’s armed forces.
Trump’s remarks came after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked the US president to extend the deadline for the deal, and Iran to fully open the Strait of Hormuz.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said Israel supported Trump’s two-week pause in attacks on Iran, but the “ceasefire does not include Lebanon”.
