SABACIREBON – Muslim Judicial Council (MHM) strongly condemns the attack on the complex Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvirwhich is said to have taken place with the support of Israeli security forces.

Under the leadership of Grand Sheikh Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-TayebMHM considers this action to be a serious violation of international law as well as an open provocation against Muslims throughout the world.

MHM Secretary General, Mohamed Abdelsalamemphasized that his party rejects all forms of efforts that could change the religious, historical and legal status quo that has been in force at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to him, this action has the potential to worsen the security and stability situation in a region that is already prone to conflict. He also emphasized that the entire area of ​​the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which covers around 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively intended for Muslims.

MHM further called on the international community to take concrete and firm steps to stop repeated violations of the holy site, including in the City of Jerusalem.

In addition, the organization urges that access to worship at the Al-Aqsa Mosque be immediately reopened for worshipers and guarantee the protection of holy places and freedom of religion.

In his statement, MHM also reiterated the importance of resolving the Palestinian conflict in a just and comprehensive manner, including recognition of the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.***
