SABACIREBON – Tension between Iran And United States of America increased again after the incident in Gulf of Oman involving an Iranian-flagged cargo ship and US military forces.
Iranian media reported that the drone attack was launched in response to the actions of US forces who intercepted and boarded a named container ship Touska.
Report from Tasnim News Agency stated that the drone operation targeted American ships, although there were no definite details regarding the type of targets attacked.

Previously, Iranian authorities accused the US move of violating the ceasefire agreement in effect on April 7. The agreement itself was reached through mediation Pakistan with a duration of two weeks.
Other sources, Fars News Agencyciting a statement from Headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters who said the ship was first fired upon until its navigation system was paralyzed.
After that, the Touska ship was controlled by US troops. Iranian military spokesman, Ebrahim Zolfagharicondemned the act as a form of “maritime piracy.”

Shipping tracking data shows the Touska sailed from Port Klang on April 12 and was reportedly headed Bandar Abbas.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump was the first to announce the incident, which was later confirmed by United States Central Command.
In its statement, CENTCOM mentioned the warship USS Spruance intercepted an Iranian ship suspected of trying to break through the naval blockade in the area.

CENTCOM also stated that the ship is currently still in the control of US Marine troops. Video footage released via the X platform shows the warning moments from the US warship before the firing action was carried out.
Meanwhile, Iran emphasized that it would provide a firm response to the incident. Zolfaghari stated that the Iranian military would not remain silent regarding what he called serious violations of international law and the ceasefire agreement.
This situation raises concerns about further escalation of conflict in the strategic area of the Gulf of Oman, which has been an important route for global trade.***
