EDITORNEWS.ID – United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were evacuated from the annual White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington on Saturday, April 25 2026) evening local time.
The evacuation was carried out after a security incident occurred which triggered panic at the location of the event which was attended by a number of high-ranking officials and invited guests.
Quoting a report from Antara News Agency, Trump and the officials at the main table were immediately escorted out by United States Secret Service agents.
Meanwhile, other guests are asked to remain indoors to avoid potential additional risks during the situation.

President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance reported being in safe condition after the security process was carried out.
A number of eyewitnesses claimed to have heard a loud sound resembling a gunshot during the event, which made guests panic and take cover under tables.
One White House correspondent said the situation turned tense within seconds after the sound was heard.
In his statement, Trump revealed that an officer was shot at close range, but managed to survive because he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

“He was shot at very close range, but the vest worked fine,” Trump said at a news conference.
Authorities say the suspect has been taken into custody and identified as Cole Thomas Allen (31).
Trump also said the perpetrator was suspected of carrying several weapons and possibly acting as himself, although this remains to be seen further.
Until now, investigations are still ongoing to reveal the motive of the perpetrator and ensure that there are no further threats from this incident.***
