Semarangku.com – Paris, President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the formation of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council or high-level business forum, as a strategic step to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between Indonesia and France.

This was conveyed by Prabowo after a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, Paris, Wednesday (28/5).

Prabowo said Indonesia appreciates President Macron’s support in encouraging the acceleration of various forms of cooperation between the two countries, including increasing investment and business relations.

“We are grateful for President Macron’s support to accelerate the development of this cooperation. We want to increase cooperation, including investment in both countries. I am very happy and welcome the formation of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council,” said Prabowo.

According to Prabowo, the formation of this high-level business forum is an important step to strengthen the involvement of French companies in Indonesia’s economic development.

“I think this is very important, and we welcome the participation and presence of French companies which continue to contribute to the Indonesian economy,” he continued.

Prabowo also emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation amidst increasingly complex global dynamics.

According to him, the development of science and technology has made the world increasingly connected, so that conflict and war no longer bring benefits to anyone.

Therefore, he positively welcomed the establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Indonesia and France which is expected to be able to produce more concrete and impactful cooperation.

“We are very happy because now we have a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Of course, in the future we want to see cooperation that is more concrete, more balanced and more impactful,” explained Prabowo.

During the meeting, the two heads of state also discussed a number of strategic issues, ranging from defense cooperation, clean energy, education, research, to the implementation of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). **
