Cianjurpedia.com – Russia’s Defense Ministry said the country’s air defenses intercepted and destroyed 172 Ukrainian drones overnight in several regions of the country, as well as over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
The attacks included large-scale drone strikes targeting the Moscow region.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, air defense forces have shot down 60 Ukrainian drones approaching the capital since the morning.
Based on official figures released by Sobyanin, the latest attack was among the largest drone strikes in Moscow this year. The previous largest attack occurred on May 17, when Russian authorities said 81 drones heading towards Moscow had been intercepted.

Air defenses also reportedly destroyed 38 drones on May 16 and 61 drones on May 7.
Sobyanin said a facility at the Moscow Oil Refinery was damaged in the ongoing attack.
He has not detailed the extent of the damage or its impact on refinery operations.
In the Krasnodar region, southern Russia, local authorities reported a fire at an oil storage facility in the village of Poltavskaya after debris from a shot down drone fell on the site.
Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations also reported that a residential building in the city of Elektrostal, east of Moscow, was damaged as a result of the attack.

There have been no reports of casualties in the incident.
Via Telegram, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack on the oil refinery and called it part of “long-range sanctions”.***
