The Densus 88 Anti-Terrorism Squad, assisted by the Ciamis Police Criminal Investigation Unit, secured a suspected terrorist in Sukaharja Village, Rajadesa District, Ciamis Regency. From the home of the suspect, identified by the initials AR (43), officers seized several documents, a mobile phone, and other items.
AR’s arrest took place on Monday, July 20, 2026, at his residence in Sukaharja Village. The arrest process was swift and drew little attention from local residents. Head of the Ciamis Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Assistant Carsono, confirmed the law enforcement operation involving his unit alongside the Densus 88 team.
“It is true that on Monday, July 20, 2026, at around 6:00 AM, we, along with the Densus 88 team, carried out a law enforcement operation regarding suspected terrorism,” said Unit Head Carsono on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He added that the process of securing the suspect went smoothly throughout the operation. Meanwhile, the law enforcement proceedings are being handled entirely by the Densus 88 Anti-Terrorism Squad.
“During execution, we only provided security assistance. Meanwhile, the law enforcement actions are carried out entirely by the Densus 88 team,” he said.
He further stated that he could not provide additional or more detailed information regarding the arrest, including potential links to other networks or groups.
“We cannot elaborate on the network or the development of the case. Everything is handled entirely by the Densus 88 team,” he noted.
Based on information from residents, Carsono mentioned that in his daily life, AR owns a rice mill. Thus far, the suspect was known as a reclusive individual who rarely interacted with his surroundings.
“Monitoring results also indicate that the individual tends to be exclusive and rarely socializes with the community,” he said.
Regarding the matter, he expressed hope that the public remains calm and refrains from speculating about the arrest. Additionally, his party hopes that if residents spot suspicious activities or matters, they immediately report them to the local Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officer), Babinsa (village military officer), or village officials. “Reports can also be made through the National Police Call Center at 110,” he added.
