Travel and Motive Still Under Investigation
From preliminary search results, investigators believe the suspect made a long journey before arriving in Washington DC. He allegedly departed by train from Los Angeles to Chicago, then continued his journey to the US capital before checking in at the hotel where the event took place.
Investigators are also investigating reports that the suspect assembled a weapon inside the hotel. Blanche said the perpetrator “almost penetrated the security perimeter,” only a few feet from the main event area.
Apart from that, authorities have also conducted a search of the suspect’s home in California to look for additional evidence.
Until now, the exact motive for this action is still unknown. According to court records, Allen has no history of criminal or civil cases in the Los Angeles area.
It should be noted, Cole Tomas Allen is still a suspect and has not been proven guilty until there is a court decision that has permanent legal force. ***
