BUTOLPOST World oil prices rose sharply ahead of the deadline set by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, for Iran to agree to Washington’s demands and agree to a ceasefire.
On Tuesday (7/4) at 06.30 GMT (13.30 WIB), the price of Brent crude oil rose 1.5 percent to around 111.4 US dollars (around Rp. 1.95 million) per barrel. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) jumped higher, namely 2.7 percent to 115.3 US dollars per barrel.
This increase was triggered by increasing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East after Trump issued a tough ultimatum to Iran. He stated that if an agreement was not reached by the specified time limit, the US military was ready to launch a massive attack.
In fact, Trump made an extreme threat by claiming that the United States was capable of “destroying” Iran in a short time.
