DIRECTIONS – Iran expressed a positive attitude towards the decision of the President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, to postpone the planned attack for two weeks while reopening access to the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, April 8 2026.
This agreement was also confirmed by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council through a statement released by the Mehr News Agency.
They called for a two-week temporary ceasefire, which they said was mediated by Pakistan.

According to the Iranian side, this decision is considered a “victory” because it is considered to be in accordance with their interests.
Tehran even claims that a ceasefire can be achieved after the US is willing to accept the 10-point demands put forward by Iran.
During this two-week period, Iran and the United States are scheduled to begin the negotiation process. The hope is that these talks can be a way to end the conflict that has been going on since February 28.

“Iran will allocate two weeks for the process [negosiasi] the. “This period can be extended upon agreement of both parties,” the council said in a statement.
“During this period, it is important to maintain full national unity and continue the victory celebrations strongly,” they continued.
On the other hand, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, also delivered an official statement via the X account on Tuesday, April 7 representing the Supreme National Security Council.
