WONOSOBO NEWS – A woman who blackmailed footballer Son Heung Min with false pregnancy claims was sentenced to 4 years in prison, on Wednesday 8 April 2026.
The Seoul Central District Court rejected the appeals of a woman in her 20s and a man in his 40s, upholding the initial ruling. The woman was sentenced to four years in prison, while her partner received two years, both on charges including extortion and attempted extortion.
Reporting from KBIZoom, according to the court’s findings, the woman was previously in a relationship with Son Heung Min, then admitted to being pregnant and sent an ultrasound image to support this accusation.

The woman then threatened to reveal the claims unless she was paid, and ultimately received approximately 300 million KRW (approximately $220,000 USD).
She then conspired with her male accomplice to demand an additional 70 million KRW, threatening to reveal the story to the media and Son Heung Min’s family. However, this second attempt was unsuccessful.
The court ruled that there was no reason to overturn the initial ruling, stating that the lower court’s ruling was appropriate considering the nature and consequences of the crime.

The judge emphasized the seriousness of the coordinated plan and rejected arguments from the defendants who asked for a reduced sentence.
