FAKE MEDIA – United Nations (UN) revealed the latest findings regarding the incident that killed Indonesian peacekeeping personnel in Lebanon. In its official statement, the UN said the first attack which occurred on March 29 2026 was caused by gunfire from a private tank Israel.
UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric explained that the results of the investigation found projectile fragments at the PBB position known as point 7-1. Based on analysis, the projectile was the main tank bullet of 122 millimeter caliber.
“The projectile was a 122 millimeter tank main gun bullet fired by an Israeli defense forces Merkava tank,” said Dujarric in his statement, Wednesday, April 8 2026.
Two Incidents in a Row
Apart from the first incident, the UN also revealed the cause of the second attack which occurred on March 30 2026. The attack was caused by the explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) which was installed using a trigger wire.
According to the UN, the explosives are strongly suspected to have been installed by armed groups in Lebanon, namely Hezbollah.
This second incident caused additional casualties from the UNIFIL peacekeeping force, including two Indonesian personnel who died after their vehicle was destroyed by an explosion near the Bani Haiyyan area.
Tension Background
Tensions between Israel and Lebanon has increased since early March 2026. On March 2, Hezbollah launched a rocket attack on Israeli territory which was then responded to by a large-scale military operation by Israel.
