Butolpost.com– Tensions in the Middle East region are heating up again. The Muslimin Hukama Council (MHM) under the leadership of Ahmed Al-Tayeb issued a strong condemnation of the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir.
This action was called a serious violation of international law as well as an open provocation that hurt the feelings of Muslims throughout the world.
MHM Secretary General, Mohamed Abdelsalam, emphasized that his party strongly rejects all forms of efforts that could damage the religious, historical and legal status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“This is an unacceptable action and has the potential to trigger wider instability,” he said in an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.
MHM also reminded that the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, which covers an area of around 144 dunams, is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims and must maintain its purity from all forms of violations.
Furthermore, MHM urges the international community not to remain silent. They were asked to immediately take concrete steps to stop repeated violations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem City and other holy sites.
Apart from that, MHM also called for the protection of freedom of worship and the reopening of access for congregations to worship at the Al-Aqsa Mosque without obstacles.
Not only that, the organization reiterated the importance of resolving the Palestinian conflict in a just and comprehensive manner, including recognizing the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
It is feared that this situation could worsen regional tensions if it is not immediately handled seriously by the international community.***
