KEPRI POST – The temporary ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran immediately became tense on the first day after Israel was suspected of violating the agreement by launching attacks, especially in Lebanese territory.

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, raised the issue of the alleged violations when communicating with Pakistan’s military leader, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Iranian media and Al Jazeera reported that Tehran was considering serious steps if Israeli attacks continued.

The Tasnim news agency even said that Iran had the potential to withdraw from the ceasefire agreement if violations continued.

“Iran will withdraw from the agreement if Israel continues to violate the ceasefire in its attacks on Lebanon,” wrote the Tasnim report.

Pakistan Affirms Ceasefire Valid Everywhere

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States was officially in effect and covered all conflict areas.

In his statement via the X social media platform on Wednesday (8/4/2026), Sharif emphasized that the agreement applies “everywhere”, including in Lebanon.

“I warmly welcome this wise step and express my deep gratitude to the leadership of both countries,” Sharif said.

He also invited delegations from Iran and the United States to come to Islamabad on Friday (10/4/2026) to continue negotiations.

According to Sharif, the meeting, known as the “Islamabad Talks”, is expected to produce a final agreement to resolve all existing disputes.

Pakistan Hopes Negotiations Result in Permanent Peace

Sharif assessed that both parties had shown great wisdom and understanding by agreeing to a temporary ceasefire.

The Pakistani government hopes that follow-up talks to be held in Islamabad can pave the way towards more permanent peace and regional stability.

However, the situation on the ground still has the potential to escalate if Israel’s alleged ceasefire violations continue to occur. ***
