BOGOR RAYA DAILY – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) revealed the large scale of attacks launched by Iran in the latest conflict in the Middle East. In an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (8/4/2026), it was stated that hundreds of missiles and thousands of drones had been directed at the territory of the UAE and its allied countries.

The latest data as of April 7 2026 shows that the UAE’s air defense system has successfully intercepted 520 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,221 drones. This figure illustrates the intensity of attacks which is considered to be one of the largest in the escalation of regional conflict in recent years.

Although most of the attacks were thwarted, their impact was still significant. Debris from intercepted missiles and drones fell on civilian areas, causing 13 people to die and 217 others to be injured. In addition, a number of vital infrastructure such as airports, ports and energy facilities were damaged.

This fact provides a strong basis for the UAE to refute Iran’s claim that the attack only targeted military facilities. According to the UAE, the reality on the ground shows a shift in targets to civil infrastructure which has a direct impact on society.

The UAE also emphasized that this conflict is not a religious conflict, but rather a matter of state security and sovereignty. Narratives that try to frame the conflict as a religious war are considered misleading and have the potential to worsen the situation.

Further analysis shows that around 85 percent of Iran’s attacks are actually directed at the Gulf countries and Jordan, not at the main targets that have been the focus of conflicts in the region. This raises new questions regarding the strategy and motives behind the aggression.

In this context, the UAE invites the international community, including Islamic countries, to view the conflict objectively and based on facts. This attitude is considered important to prevent the spread of inaccurate narratives and maintain global stability.***
