CIREBON NEWS – The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, surprisingly issued a statement on TruthSocial stating that Iran was willing to reopen shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Not only that, Donald Trump also wrote, Iran agreed to stop its nuclear program by handing over its stock of enriched uranium. This will mark the end of war in the Middle East and the establishment of peace.

The US President announced that details would be announced “soon” after the Islamic Republic of Iran and the mediator, Pakistan, submitted new proposals to end the war at the last minute.

“A deal has largely been negotiated, and is still pending finalization between the United States, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and various other countries, as listed,” Trump wrote.

“The final aspects and details of the agreement are currently being discussed, and will be announced soon. In addition to many other elements of the agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened,” Trump added.

Tehran has not commented publicly on Trump’s announcement, but two US sources told the New York Times that Iran has agreed to release its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

The leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain, as well as Pakistani ministers, have been working to reach a final agreement.

The post came after what the US president described as a “very good call” with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Jordan and Bahrain.

Trump also had a separate call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he said also went “very well.” He hailed the agreement as a “Memorandum of Understanding regarding Peace.”

The main points of contention remain unclear – among them, whether Iran will still manage the shipping lane.

Meanwhile, Iran has signaled “narrowing differences” in negotiations with the US after Pakistan’s military chief held more talks in Tehran.

Iran’s Fars news agency reported that the theocratic regime will remain under its own management according to the text of the latest agreement that has been exchanged.

The report also dismissed Trump’s announcement of reopening the strait as part of a “largely negotiated” deal as incomplete and out of touch with reality.

“Based on the text of the latest exchange, if a deal is reached, the Strait of Hormuz will still be under Iran’s management,” said the report from Fars.

“While Iran has agreed to allow the number of vessels to pass through to return to pre-war levels, this in no way means ‘free-tracking’ to the pre-war situation.

“The management of the strait, determining routes, times, shipping methods and issuing permits, will remain completely under the control and authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he concluded.***
