FAKE MEDIA, ZODIAC FORECAST – In the era of modern warfare, threats no longer come only from fighter jets or large missiles.

Now, cheap drones, cruise missiles, and mass attacks from various directions are new challenges that have made many countries compete to build super-sophisticated air defense systems.

In the midst of this situation, Türkiye secretly developed an ambitious project called Steel Dome (Çelik Kubbe). This system has even begun to be touted as an “impenetrable steel shield” that has the potential to shake the military balance in the Middle East.

In contrast to other air defense systems that focus on one type of threat, Steel Dome is designed as a layered defense network based on artificial intelligence (AI) that is capable of dealing with almost all modern air threats. Starting from small drones, rockets, cruise missiles, to fighter planes.

Not Just Missiles, But “Systems of Systems”

Steel Dome is not a single weapon as many people imagine.

This system is a combination of dozens of defense technologies connected to one smart network. This project was developed by major Turkish defense companies such as:

  • ASELSAN

  • ROKETSAN

  • TÜBİTAK SAGE

They integrate around 47 different components, including radar, infrared sensors, electronic warfare systems, AI command centers, and various types of interceptor missiles.

All of these systems work in one real-time network that can read air threats in just seconds.

Built with 4 Layers of Defense

One of Steel Dome’s main strengths is its layered defense concept.

This means that each threat will be faced by a different system depending on the distance, speed and type of target.

1. Strategic Layer: Siper Long Range Missile

The outermost layer uses the Siper missile system.

The initial version is said to have a range of more than 100 kilometers, while the advanced version is said to have a range of around 150 kilometers.

The main targets are:

  • fighter,

  • cruise missile,

  • long-range air threats.

2. Operational Layer: Hisar Missile Family

In the middle layer, Türkiye uses the Hisar system.

Consist of:

  • Hisar-A for short distances,

  • Hisar-O for medium distance.

This system is designed to destroy:

  • helicopter,

  • UAVs,

  • drones,

  • fighter,

  • cruise missile.

3. Tactical Layer: Combination of Missiles and Cannons

The next layer uses a system such as:

  • Gurz

  • Gökdemir

This system is a link between medium and short range defense.

4. Nearest Layer: Anti Drone and Rocket

This is Steel Dome’s “last bastion.”

Türkiye wear:

  • Korkut

  • Sungur

  • Gökberk

This layer focuses on facing:

  • suicide drone,

  • rocket,

  • mortar,

  • low targets that are difficult to detect.

Interestingly, some systems even use laser technology and electronic warfare to be able to disable targets without having to waste expensive missiles.

AI Becomes Steel Dome’s Main “Brain”.

What makes Steel Dome very different is the use of AI as the main command center.

Türkiye developed a system called HAKIM which functions like a digital brain.

This AI is capable of:

  • reading data from radar,

  • identify threats,

  • choose the most effective weapon,

  • to provide recommendations for automatic firing.

All processes take place very quickly to face modern attacks that come simultaneously from various directions.

Super sophisticated radar that can see threats from afar

Steel Dome is also supported by domestically made radars such as:

  • ALP 300-G

  • Eralp

This radar is capable of detecting targets from hundreds of kilometers away, including threats that try to hide through stealth technology.

This system is further strengthened by electronic warfare such as:

  • CORAL

  • PUHU

The technology allows Türkiye to jam the signals of enemy drones or missiles without having to fire an interceptor.

Called More Ambitious than Israel’s Iron Dome

Many analysts compare the Steel Dome to Israel’s Iron Dome.

However, both have different focuses.

Iron Dome is known to be very effective at destroying short-range rockets.

While the Steel Dome is designed to be wider:

  • anti-drone,

  • anti missile,

  • anti fighter jet,

  • to AI-based electronic warfare.

In other words, Türkiye does not just want to build a “shield”, but a completely independent national air defense ecosystem.

Investing Billions of Dollars for Military Independence

Türkiye is said to have awarded a contract worth around 6.5 billion US dollars to accelerate mass production of this system.

The big ambition is clear:

  • reducing dependence on foreign weapons,

  • strengthen the national defense industry,

  • while making Türkiye a major player in global military technology.

Although some parts of the system are still being developed, especially the long-range anti-ballistic missile capability, Steel Dome is already considered one of the most ambitious air defense projects in the region.

Türkiye’s Future of War May Be Building

Steel Dome shows how modern warfare began to change drastically.

Now victory is not just about the number of tanks or fighter jets, but about:

  • network intelligence,

  • AI speed,

  • data integration,

  • and the ability to read threats in seconds.

And if this project is fully successful, Türkiye will not only have a new defense system.

They may be building one of the most sophisticated “war brains” in the world.***
