PR SUMEDANG RAYA – The war between Iran and Israel has again given rise to wild speculation amidst increasingly heated military escalations.

Unverified reports circulated on Monday, claiming that the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ahmad Vahidi, was killed in an Israeli attack in Tehran.

This claim emerged following Israel’s response to Iran’s missile attack which previously targeted their air base.

The retaliatory attack reportedly triggered a series of powerful explosions in several strategic Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj and Tabriz.

Information regarding Vahidi’s death quickly spread through various social media accounts affiliated with Israel and Iranian opposition groups.

However, this claim was immediately strongly denied.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) categorically denied that they specifically targeted Vahidi in the operation.

On the other hand, Iran’s mainstream media also called rumors of the commander’s death fake news.

Until now, there has been no official confirmation or visual evidence to validate this claim.

Ahmad Vahidi, who was appointed commander-in-chief of the IRGC in March 2026, is known as a hardline figure in Tehran.

He is also an international fugitive wanted in connection with the 1994 AMIA bombing in Argentina.

Vahidi took over command of the IRGC in the midst of open conflict that erupted on February 28, 2026, which has so far claimed thousands of lives on both sides.

On the X platform, various defense and news accounts put a sharp spotlight on this rumor.

The accounts @EliAfriatISR and @saif_aldareei stated that Vahidi was reported dead just hours after he made provocative threats against Israel.
