MANDALIKA THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE – United States President Donald Trump announced a peace agreement between the United States (US) and Iran. As part of the deal, Washington will end the naval blockade that has been imposed on Iran.

Trump made the announcement via an upload on the Truth Social platform. In his statement, Trump said the negotiation process with the Islamic Republic of Iran had been completed.

“The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!” wrote Trump in a post on Truth Social, Monday, June 15, 2026.

Trump said he had given permission for the immediate lifting of the United States naval blockade of Iran. He also indicated that global energy trade would start to return to activity.

“Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” he wrote.

In addition, Trump announced that Iran had reopened the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping free of charge.

“I hereby fully authorize the opening of the Strait of Hormuz without toll fees, and, simultaneously, authorize the immediate lifting of the United States Navy blockade,” Trump continued.

Signing in Switzerland

Meanwhile, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, stated that the text of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States had been completed. The plan is for the official signing in Switzerland on Friday, June 19 2026.

“We have finalized the text of the memorandum of understanding, and the official signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding will take place in Switzerland on Friday,” Gharibabadi told Iranian state media, Monday, June 15, 2026.

He emphasized that the commitments of the two countries based on the memorandum of understanding will come into effect from the day of signing.
“Our commitment will take effect from Friday,” he said.

However, Gharibabadi revealed that there were two points of agreement that would be implemented more quickly.

“Two things will come into effect immediately starting this morning,” he said.

According to him, the first point is a permanent and immediate end to the war on all conflict fronts, including in Lebanon. The second point is the lifting and ending of the naval blockade by the United States against Iran.

“First, the permanent and immediate cessation of war on all fronts, including Lebanon. Second, the lifting and ending of the naval blockade by the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he said as quoted by CNN.

Gharibabadi emphasized that the memorandum of understanding was not only the result of a diplomatic process, but also the fruit of Iran’s military achievements.

The Iranian official’s statement came not long after President Donald Trump announced the achievement of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. ***
