One of these strategic steps was realized through the arrival of the tanker MT Gamkonora which will soon arrive in Cilacap, Central Java carrying around 450,000 barrels of crude oil to support domestic energy needs.
The crude oil supply brought by MT Gamkonora will be an important part in maintaining the availability of raw materials for national refinery operations. It is hoped that the presence of this cargo can support the sustainability of fuel production to meet the energy needs of society, the industrial sector and various economic activities in various regions of Indonesia.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary, Roberth MV Dumatubun, said that the arrival of MT Gamkonora was part of the company’s ongoing efforts to ensure that the national energy supply is maintained amidst the dynamics of the global energy industry which continues to develop.

MT Gamkonora previously departed from Arzew, Algeria, on May 14 2026 before continuing the voyage to Indonesia. During the journey, ship operations are monitored continuously to ensure cargo security, navigation safety and on-time arrival. Supervision is carried out in an integrated manner to maintain the reliability of energy distribution from the point of origin to arrival at the destination location.

Pertamina Patra Niaga has made various operational preparations to ensure the cargo acceptance process can run smoothly. These preparations include coordination with terminal managers, port authorities, related agencies, as well as all parties involved in the loading and unloading process and subsequent distribution.
This step was taken to ensure that the crude oil supply could be distributed immediately according to the operational needs of the refinery. According to Roberth, readiness to receive strategic energy supplies is an important factor in maintaining national energy security.
