Media Purwodadi – The Mina phase is the main concern of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to ensure that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims undergo the pilgrimage safely, orderly and avoid dangerous crowds.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensures that all services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims during the Mina phase are under control, especially the implementation of the second Tasyrik day pilgrimage on Friday, May 29 2026.
Indonesian Hajj pilgrims carry out the Ula, Wustha and Aqabah pilgrimage with strict arrangements to maintain the safety of the Hajj pilgrims during the Mina phase in the Jamarat area.

The policy of setting the Jumrah ejection schedule was carried out following the high mobility of Hajj pilgrims during the Mina phase which is synonymous with dense human traffic and extreme hot temperatures.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Maria Assegaff, said that the safety of Hajj pilgrims is a top priority during the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage series.
Maria asked all Hajj pilgrims to be disciplined in following the Jumrah ejection schedule set by officers and not to move to the Jamarat area outside of official times.
“We ask the congregation not to rush, not to walk alone, and to stay with the group while heading to Jamarat or when returning to the tent,” said Maria in Jakarta.
According to Maria, Hajj pilgrims are not allowed to perform the Jumrah pilgrimage during prohibited times, especially from 10.00 to 14.00 Saudi Arabian time because the temperature is very hot.
For 12 Zulhijah 1447 Hijriah, the schedule for the pilgrimage of Indonesian pilgrims was divided into two sessions to reduce crowding during the Mina phase in the Jamarat area.
The first session of the Jumrah pilgrimage takes place from 05.00 to 10.30 Saudi Arabian time, while the second session starts from 18.00 to midnight.
Meanwhile, the ban on performing pilgrimages is enforced from 11.00 to 14.00 Saudi Arabian time to prevent the risk of fatigue due to extreme hot weather.
During the prohibition period, Hajj pilgrims are asked to remain in their respective tents to maintain their physical condition before continuing the next series of pilgrimages.
Apart from arranging the Jumrah ejection schedule, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also regulates the movement of the Nafar Awal pilgrims towards Makkah City in stages and waves.
The Nafar Awal congregation was asked to immediately complete the Jumrah pilgrimage according to schedule before returning to the tent to prepare to depart by bus for Mecca.
The departure of the Nafar Awal pilgrims to Makkah is carried out from 10.00 to 17.00 Saudi Arabian time with a gradual system to avoid crowding of pilgrims.
Maria explained that gradual arrangements were being made so that the pilgrims’ journey to Mecca was safe, comfortable and did not trigger excessive crowd buildup in Mina.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has also alerted 1,356 Mina Task Force officers at various strategic points to assist in monitoring and regulating the flow of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims.
Mina Task Force officers were stationed on Jalan 616, Jalan 533, Jalan 627, the Mina Al-Wadi Hospital area, and a number of main routes leading to the Jamarat area.
The presence of field officers aims to direct Hajj pilgrims to the Jumrah ejection location as well as anticipate the density of human flow during the Mina phase.
Officers are also responsible for ensuring that pilgrims return via safe routes and do not take shortcuts that could potentially endanger safety during the journey.
Apart from security personnel, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah deployed 19 golf cars as a quick service to help Hajj pilgrims who experienced problems in Mina.
Golf carts are prepared for elderly pilgrims, people with disabilities, exhausted pilgrims, lost pilgrims, or pilgrims who are separated from the group after the pilgrimage is finished.
“Golf cars are prepared to help pilgrims who need quick assistance so they can return to the tent safely,” said Maria explaining the service.
Golf cart officers moved to comb a number of strategic points around Jamarat and the main route of congregation movement to speed up handling of field emergencies.
Strengthening Emergency Services in the Mina Area
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also placed Mobile Crisis Rescue or MCR in the Mina area to assist emergency services during the peak phase of the Hajj pilgrimage.
The MCR was prepared as an emergency service post tasked with providing first aid, assisting with evacuations, and reducing the density of congregations in the area around Jamarat.
Maria said the MCR would handle various emergency conditions, including fainting, severe fatigue, lost pilgrims, and even elderly pilgrims who needed evacuation assistance.
The presence of the Mina Task Force, golf cars and MCR services is said to be part of the government’s commitment to provide maximum protection for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims during the Mina phase.
Maria emphasized that this service is prioritized for elderly pilgrims, people with disabilities, women and high-risk congregations so that they continue to receive adequate assistance.

Apart from security and transportation, Hajj pilgrims are also asked to maintain their health by drinking more water and reducing unnecessary physical activity.
Pilgrims are advised to use head protection when outside their tents to reduce the impact of the extreme hot weather that hit the Mina area during the Hajj season.
Hajj Pilgrims Asked to Help Each Other During Mina Phase
Group leaders, team leaders and families of the group are also asked to increase attention to vulnerable pilgrims so that they do not experience fatigue or become separated from the traveling group.
If they find a congregation confused, lost direction, or experiencing health problems, officers ask the congregation to immediately report to the nearest officer for assistance.
“We invite all congregants to look after each other and help each other so that the entire series of worship during the Mina phase runs safely, comfortably and full of blessings,” said Maria.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensures that all services for Hajj pilgrims, from transportation, health, consumption, to pilgrim protection continue to be strengthened until the Mina phase is completed.
Strengthening services for Hajj pilgrims and monitoring Jumrah pilgrimages during the Mina phase is an important step for the government to maintain the safety of Indonesian pilgrims amidst the high mobility of pilgrimages.***
