PRIANGANTIMURNEWS – Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East region are once again in the international spotlight. Iran warned that any further attacks by the United States and Israel would be met with a response that was tougher and stronger than before.
Senior spokesman for the Iranian armed forces, Abolfazl Shekarchi, Tuesday 26 May 2026 emphasized that if the conflict escalates again to the stage of open war, then Iran’s response will not only occur in the Middle East region, but could also expand with greater impacts.
In his statement quoted by Iranian media, Shekarchi said that his country was ready to give a much stronger response if another attack occurred. The statement came after reports of alleged attacks by US and Israeli aircraft on Iranian ships around Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz which reportedly killed a number of Iranians.

This situation adds to the long list of tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel which over the last few months have sparked concern in many countries. The conflict began after the joint US-Israel attack on Iran on February 28, which Iran then responded to, triggering military escalation in the region.
In the midst of heated conditions, Pakistan is said to be leading mediation efforts to promote peace and prevent a wider war. This diplomatic effort is considered important because a prolonged conflict could have an impact on global economic stability, international trade routes, and world energy security, especially because the Strait of Hormuz is one of the main routes for world oil distribution.
The ceasefire itself went into effect on April 8 and was then extended indefinitely by US President Donald Trump. However, various strong statements from the parties involved show that the situation is still very vulnerable to change at any time.
