LEBAK PORTAL – Israel launched another major airstrike in Dahiyeh, south of Beirut, Lebanon, on Wednesday 8 April 2026.

Based on reports from Anadolu correspondents, loud explosions were heard and smoke rose from the area attacked by Israel.

The Israeli army previously claimed to have struck more than 100 points in just 10 minutes in Beirut, the Beqaa Valley and southern Lebanon.

Wednesday’s attacks were noted as the “biggest wave” since the conflict between Israel and the Lebanese militant group, Hezbollah, began on March 2.

The death toll from the Israeli attacks was reported to have reached at least 254 people, including 92 in Beirut.

“We are facing a dangerous escalation in Lebanon, with Israeli aggression carrying out more than 100 airstrikes targeting innocent civilians in Beirut, Dahiyeh, Bekaa, Mount Lebanon and the south,” Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine told Al Jazeera.

These attacks occurred after Iran and the United States on Tuesday April 7 announced a two-week ceasefire.

This is to facilitate a final agreement to end the war waged by Washington and Tel Aviv against Tehran since the end of last February.
