JURNALACEH.COM – Good news for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in 2026. In order to increase comfort and speed up the accommodation process, the committee is implementing a new scheme for distributing hotel room keys in Makkah. Now, congregants will receive room keys before getting off the bus.

This innovative step is specifically designed to reduce waiting times and avoid queues of pilgrims accumulating in hotel lobbies after long journeys.

Head of the Makkah Working Area (Daker), Ihsan Faisal, explained that all service flows had been carefully prepared so that the congregation could immediately rest upon arrival at the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel yard, the congregation was asked not to get off immediately.

The sector officer will call the group leader to the lobby to hand over the room key. Keys are given based on pre-arranged room configurations (including separation of male and female congregants).

After holding the key, the new congregation was invited to get off the bus and directed by officers directly to their respective rooms without needing to stop by the reception desk.

“As soon as they got off, the congregation went straight into their room because the key was already held by the group leader,” said Ihsan at the Daker Makkah office.

Congregants also don’t need to worry about their suitcases. Saudi Arabian Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) ensure that baggage distribution is carried out separately from the movement of the congregation.

All suitcases will be handled by field officers or umal (workers) who will deliver the luggage directly to the front of the congregation’s room. That way, the congregation can focus on resting or preparing to carry out the mandatory Umrah pilgrimage.

For the 2026 Hajj season, the Indonesian Ministry of Religion has prepared 177 hotels spread across five main areas: Syisyah, Raudhah, Misfalah, Jarwal, and Aziziyah

Sector 1 in the Syisyah area has the largest number with 32 hotels, while sector 10 in Aziziyah only has one hotel complex, but with a very large capacity. Hotel distribution is adjusted to the density of pilgrims in each region.

Sector 2 has 22 hotels, sector 3 has 19 hotels, sector 4 has 23 hotels, and sector 5 has 18 hotels. Meanwhile, sector 6 in Jarwal accommodates 13 hotels, sector 7 in Misfalah has 17 hotels, sector 8 has 13 hotels, and sector 9 has 19 hotels.

With detailed arrangements from the start, it is hoped that this year’s congregation placement process will run much more orderly, efficiently and provide peace for the duyufurrahman (guests of Allah). ***
