The 51-year-old coach also praised his team’s efficiency in attack.
“It was important to score at the right moment. After that, I thought we controlled the game. I’m pleased with the team’s overall performance because we were facing players with outstanding individual quality,” he added.
In terms of individual talent, Colombia arguably hold a slight advantage through the creativity of James Rodríguez, the pace of Luis Díaz, and the balance provided in midfield by Jefferson Lerma.
Switzerland, however, possess a highly disciplined tactical structure, quick transitions, and a defense that has proven extremely difficult to break down.
