CIREBON NEWS – The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump seems to be burying the option of a ground attack against Iran. Apart from running out of weapons, the US military knows very well that a ground attack carries a very high risk.
For now, the US has no choice but to extend the blockade of Iranian ports to suppress and destroy the economy of the Mullah’s Country. With the blockade, Iran’s income from oil and gas fell drastically.
Donald Trump sees the blockade option as better than active hostilities or withdrawal, even as gas prices continue to rise, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

Reportedly, Trump has ordered plans to extend the blockade of Iranian ports in an effort to pressure Tehran to reach a more favorable peace deal.
On the other hand, Trump’s approval rating hit an all-time low, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.
Unnamed officials told the newspaper that Trump had ordered aides to prepare for an extended blockade, seeing the option as risky but preferable to re-bombing or withdrawing completely from the conflict.

The newspaper described the policy as a high-risk attempt to force a nuclear capitulation on Iran, which has long resisted US demands to dismantle its atomic program and hand over its stockpile of enriched uranium.
The article came after Axios and several other outlets reported that Iran had offered a three-step proposal to end the conflict, which would reopen the Strait of Hormuz while delaying nuclear talks to a later stage.
However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio rejected the proposal, stressing that the nuclear issue remains fundamental to resolving the conflict.

According to the WSJ, Trump saw Tehran’s offer as a sign that Iran was not negotiating in good faith. The newspaper also stated that the proposal would allow Iran to set conditions for exiting the blockade.
Additionally, a senior US official told the outlet that the blockade could prove devastating to Iran’s economy, adding that increased pressure was the reason behind Iran’s latest proposal.***
