FAKE MEDIA – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Ishaq Darurge United States of America And Iran to consider extending the ceasefire which will end on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

The call was made at a meeting with the US Chargé d’Affaires in Islamabad, Natalie Baker. In his statement, Dar emphasized that Pakistan consistently encourages dialogue and diplomacy as the only way to defuse conflict and achieve regional stability.

He also emphasized the importance of continued talks between Washington and Tehran to prevent an escalation of tensions in the Middle East region.

Pakistan Pushes Diplomacy Amid Tensions

During the meeting, the US expressed its appreciation for Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the two countries. Washington assesses that Islamabad has contributed constructively to efforts to maintain regional peace.

Tensions in the region escalated after the military attacks involved Israel and the United States against Iran at the end of February. Iran then responded to the attack by targeting Israeli territory as well as a number of US military facilities in the region.

This situation has raised concerns about the spread of conflict which could have an impact on global stability.

The ceasefire threatens to end

Pakistan previously served as a mediator in a two-week ceasefire that began on April 8, 2026. The country also hosted talks between the US and Iran on April 11–12.

However, efforts to continue negotiations still face uncertainty. US President, Donald Trumpstated that the possibility of extending the ceasefire was very small.

He also emphasized that the strategic route Strait of Hormuz will remain blockaded until an agreement is reached between the two parties.

This condition adds to concerns about disruption of global energy stability and the increasing risk of open conflict in the region.***
