BUTOLPOST – United States President Donald Trump claims that his country will soon achieve “total victory” over Iran within the next two weeks, amidst the easing of the latest tensions between Iran and Israel which have sparked world concern.

Trump made these remarks on Monday (8/6) at a virtual rally for Senator Lindsey Graham, one of his close Republican allies.

“We are a very tough team, and I think we are winning that battle. But you will really win it in the next two weeks when we declare total victory,” Trump said.

He added that this victory would happen soon and was believed to have an impact on reducing world oil prices.

“It would be a total victory. It would happen very soon, and oil prices would fall drastically,” he said.

Trump’s statement came just hours after Iran and Israel both signaled an end to confrontation that in recent days has sparked fears of widespread conflict in the Middle East region.

Previously, Iran announced it would stop attacks on Israel. However, Tehran emphasized that it would give a “devastating” response if Israel continued its military operations in Lebanon.

Iran’s military stated that Israel and its allies should have learned from Tehran’s response during the escalation.

Tensions rose sharply after Israel launched air strikes on Beirut, Lebanon, even though the previous ceasefire was still in effect. This attack triggered Iran’s response in the form of launching missiles into northern Israel, which was then responded with Israeli air attacks on a number of targets in Iran.

In the midst of the heated situation, Trump also called for an end to the fighting via a post on his Truth Social platform early Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised speech that fighting with Iran had stopped “for now”. However, he emphasized that Israel would respond if it was again targeted by attacks.

This latest development has attracted international attention because it has the potential to affect the stability of the Middle East region and the global energy market.***
