Trump-Iran Agree to Two-Week Ceasefire

WONOSOBO NEWS – The United States and Iran agreed to a two-week conditional ceasefire on Tuesday evening after a last-minute diplomatic intervention led by Pakistan.

This agreement came after an ultimatum from Donald Trump for Iran to surrender or face widespread destruction.

Trump’s announcement of the ceasefire deal came less than two hours before the US president’s self-imposed 8pm Eastern time deadline to bomb Iran’s power plants and bridges, which legal experts, as well as officials from various countries and the Pope, said could amount to war crimes.

Hours earlier, Trump wrote on Truth Social threatening to wreak havoc on Iran: “An entire civilization will die tonight, never to be revived. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”

The B-52 bombers were reportedly on their way to Iran before the ceasefire deal was announced.

But on Tuesday evening, Trump announced that a ceasefire deal had been brokered through Pakistan, whose prime minister Shehbaz Sharif had requested two weeks of peace to “allow diplomacy to run its course”.

Trump wrote in a post that “on the condition that the Islamic Republic of Iran agree to a COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend bombings and attacks against Iran for two weeks.”
