CIREBON NEWS – The United States (US) military attacked an Iranian oil tanker sailing from Iranian coastal waters near Jask towards the Strait of Hormuz. Iran also accused the US Navy of attacking another ship that entered the waterway off the coast of Fujairah in the UAE.
In addition to attacking the two Iranian ships, the US military carried out air strikes on civilian areas along the coast of Bandar Khamir, Sirik and Qeshm Island. Iran responded by firing missiles at US warships.
Iran stated that its armed forces had launched direct retaliatory attacks on US military ships following the alleged American attack near the Strait of Hormuz.

“The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in an immediate retaliatory action, attacked US military ships east of the Strait of Hormuz and south of Bandar Chabahar, causing heavy damage to them,” Central Headquarters spokesman Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya said.
Iran’s Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters accused the US of violating the ceasefire by attacking Iran’s maritime and coastal targets near the Strait of Hormuz.
The US military has carried out attacks on the Iranian ports of Qeshm and Bandar Abbas, Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin in X reported, citing a senior US official.

The official stressed that the attack did not mark the resumption of war or the end of the April 7 ceasefire, according to Griffin.
Griffin also reported, citing a senior US official, that Saudi Arabia and Kuwait briefly withdrew permission for the US to use their bases and airspace for the now-suspended Project Freedom operation, but that decision has been reversed.
CENTCOM acknowledged an incident of exchange of fire between the US and Iranian militaries. However, the US military carried out attacks as a form of defense against Iranian missiles and drones.

CENTCOM rejected Iran’s claim that a US warship suffered significant damage due to a missile attack. All US warships continue to carry out blockade operations against a number of Iranian ports.***
