KABAR-BANDUNG.COM – A ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States was finally reached after an armed conflict that lasted more than a month since February 28. Both sides agreed to temporarily suspend hostilities for two weeks as a first step towards further negotiations.
For Iran, this deal is seen as a diplomatic victory. Tehran claims that the United States has agreed to a number of key demands put forward as conditions for a ceasefire and the opening of negotiation channels.

This statement emphasizes Iran’s position which sees the results of this agreement as a strategic success amidst the military and political pressure that occurred during the conflict.
On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also highlighted an important aspect of the ceasefire, namely the reopening of the vital global trade route in the Strait of Hormuz. This route was previously closed following military operations carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran.
“For two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible through coordination with the Iranian Armed Forces and taking into account technical limitations,” he said in X on Tuesday (7/4) evening.
