Hi Bandung – Donald Trump said he would not proceed with plans for a new military attack on Iran after a request from Pakistani officials.
This decision also extends the ceasefire period which was previously almost over.
Trump explained that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir asked Washington to postpone military action.
This step is intended to provide the Iranian side with an opportunity to formulate an integrated proposal to end the ongoing conflict.
The blockade remains ongoing, the US military is on standby
Despite refraining from new attacks, Trump emphasized that the United States would continue its blockade of Iran’s shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz, which is at the center of tensions between the two countries.
He also emphasized that the US military remains on full alert to face any eventuality.
In his statement, Trump said he had instructed troops to maintain the blockade while extending the ceasefire until Iran presented an official proposal and the negotiation process reached clarity.
Previously, Trump had threatened to launch another attack when the ceasefire period neared the end.
However, the latest reports say that talks between the two parties were delayed due to increasing tensions on the ground.***
