ABOUT CIBUBUR – The United States military launched attacks on a number of Iranian military facilities after three US warships were reported to have come under attack while crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
Quoting a CNN report, the US Central Military Command (CENTCOM) stated that the target of the attack was a facility that Iran allegedly used to launch missiles, drones and small ships in action against the US fleet.

“US forces intercepted an unprovoked Iranian attack and responded with a strike in self-defense as a US Navy guided-missile destroyer crossed the Strait of Hormuz towards the Gulf of Oman on May 7,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
CENTCOM said the targets of the military operation included missile and drone launch locations, command centers and intelligence and surveillance facilities.
Three US Warships Targeted
According to CENTCOM’s statement, Iran launched missiles, drones and small ships when three US warships, namely USS Truxtun (DDG-103), USS Rafael Peralta (DDG-115), and USS Mason (DDG-87) passed through the international shipping lane of the Strait of Hormuz.
“No US assets were hit,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
US President Donald Trump then warned Iran not to escalate the situation and immediately agree to the deal being discussed.

Attacks occurred in Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island
A US official told CNN that military operations were carried out at a number of strategic points, including Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island.
On the other hand, an Iranian military spokesman accused US airstrikes of also hitting civilian areas around Qeshm Island, Bandar Khamir and Sirik.
Iran also claims that the United States violated the ceasefire by attacking an Iranian oil tanker that was heading towards the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, Tehran stated that it had carried out “retaliatory action” by attacking US military ships in the area east of the strait and south of Chabahar Port.

Trump Claims Iran Has Suffered Major Damage
Quoted from The Jerusalem Post, Donald Trump said three US destroyers managed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz “under fire” without suffering damage.
“Three world-class American destroyers just made it through the Strait of Hormuz under fire. There was no damage to the three ships, but major damage was done to the Iranian attackers,” Trump said.
Trump also claimed the small Iranian boats used in the attack had been completely destroyed.
“They were completely destroyed along with many small ships that were used to replace their navy which had been completely crippled,” he said.
The US President reiterated Washington’s stance regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
