Media Purwodadi – Shocking news came from international waters when five Indonesian citizens were arrested by the Israeli military in a very tight armed raid operation.
This unilateral arrest targeted a convoy of international ships carrying aid which was sailing on a humanitarian mission to the Gaza Strip.
The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, has confirmed that five Indonesian citizens were arrested by the Israeli military in the maritime interception incident.

This official information was conveyed directly by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Yvonne Mewengkang, to the media on Tuesday morning.
Yvonne stated that a total of nine volunteers from Indonesia had joined the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia coalition to carry out humanitarian missions.
The nine humanitarian envoys were officially registered as sailing in a large group of humanitarian ships called the Global Sumud Flotilla two point zero.
Tensions in Cypriot Waters
“Based on the latest reports as of this morning, five Indonesian citizens are said to have been taken prisoner by the Israeli army,” said Yvonne in her official statement.
Meanwhile, four other volunteers from Indonesia were reportedly on two different ships separate from the location of the Zionist military ambush.
It is known that the four humanitarian volunteers are continuing their emergency voyage around the Cyprus sea area to this day.
The ministry explained that the real situation in the international waters is currently still very dynamic and tense for volunteers.
“The four Indonesian crew members who are still sailing are now in a very risky position and have the potential to face further interception from the Israeli fleet,” said the spokesman.
The entire crew of the ship carrying logistical aid could at any time again experience unilateral physical interception by Israeli military armed forces.
Responding to this emergency situation, the foreign ministry moved quickly to take tactical steps to protect the law for all citizens there.
The Jakarta government immediately carried out intensive initial coordination with a number of Indonesian Embassy offices located in the conflict area.
The ministry has contacted diplomatic officials at the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, and the Indonesian Embassy in Istanbul for quick handling.
All diplomatic representatives were specifically assigned to prepare comprehensive rescue measures for the victims of the Israeli military’s cold-blooded arrests.
Diplomatic Rescue Efforts
“Indonesian representatives abroad also approached local authorities to ensure that the transit and repatriation routes for Indonesian citizens were free from immigration problems,” Yvonne added.
This emergency document was issued as the main anticipatory step if the volunteers’ official passports were forcibly confiscated by the Israeli military.
Apart from immigration documents, the Indonesian government is also preparing to provide emergency medical team assistance facilities needed by all volunteer crew members.
Indonesian diplomatic representatives are now continuing to take a persuasive approach with local regional authorities to secure evacuation transit routes for arrest victims.

This tactical immigration step must be taken so that the process of returning humanitarian delegates to their homeland can run smoothly without legal obstacles.
In addition, Indonesian diplomats continue to carry out close monitoring and regular verification of the coordinates of the last positions of humanitarian volunteers.
The Indonesian Embassy is also preparing to follow up on all official notifications issued by local authorities as soon as the written report is received by the bureaucracy.
“The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges the Israeli military to immediately release all ships and crew of the world humanitarian mission that are being held,” stressed Yvonne.
This act of forced detention is considered to violate international law because it attacks the purely humanitarian mission of bringing food aid to civilians.
According to Yvonne, this maritime tragedy shows the importance of moral awareness on the part of the Israeli authorities to ensure the full security of the logistical distribution of humanitarian aid.
This is because the delivery of food and medical aid to civilians in Palestine must be protected under international law based on applicable world humanitarian treaties.
The government emphasizes that the Palestinian people’s right to receive medical supplies must not be hampered by Israeli military aggression in any form.
Until now, the Indonesian public continues to wait for developments in the rescue following the news that five Indonesian citizens were arrested by the Israeli military while carrying out this noble humanitarian mission.
Prayers are pouring in for the safety of the volunteers who are still struggling on the high seas to guard this high-risk humanitarian mission.***
