SABACIREBON – The South Korean government officially implemented a temporary visa exemption program for group tourists from Indonesia starting this week as part of efforts to increase foreign tourist visits.
Through this policy, Indonesian tourists traveling in groups of at least three people can enter South Korea without a visa and stay up to 15 days. The program is valid from May 28 until the end of December 2026.
The South Korean Ministry of Justice explained that this policy was a follow-up to the government’s decision to relax visa requirements and entry access for foreign tourists which was discussed at a tourism strategy meeting last February.

This step is expected to be able to strengthen the tourism sector while encouraging the growth of domestic consumption amidst increasing international tourist mobility.
Despite providing easy access, the South Korean government continues to tighten supervision of potential immigration violations. Travel agents in South Korea are required to send a list of tourists through the government system no later than 24 hours before arrival.
This data will later be verified to detect high-risk visitors, including individuals who have a history of illegal stay or are on the immigration restriction list.

South Korean Minister of Justice Jung Sung-ho emphasized that the government will continue to coordinate with the relevant ministries so that the temporary visa-free program can run optimally without disrupting the orderliness of visits by foreign tourists.***
