CIREBON NEWS – Britain and France sent warships to clear sea mines planted by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. However, Tehran has issued a warning that if British and French warships dare to enter the Strait of Hormu they will be threatened with missile attacks.

The British deployed HMS Dragon sailing towards the Middle East, where a fragile ceasefire was being pushed to its limits. HMS Dragon took part with other warships from Europe to escort tankers across the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, claimed that the British and French warships had the potential to “accompany illegal actions and violate international law” by the US and would receive a firm response.

Iran and the US have exchanged attacks in the Strait of Hormuz in recent days despite an official lull in hostilities.

Donald Trump blasted the regime on Truth Social tonight, threatening that they will “never laugh again.”

Iran also criticized the United Arab Emirates (UAE), whose defense ministry confirmed the interception of several Iranian missiles and drones.

HMS Dragon is one of Britain’s most advanced warships. The Type 45 destroyer will be “on standby” in the Gulf Region, ready to play a key role in defending commercial vessels from Iranian air attacks.

The Portsmouth-based warship has a crew of 200 people, and has been undergoing weapons trials off the coast of Crete since leaving the UK in March.

Last month, the 500-foot warship had to return to port for maintenance after reports that it suffered damage to its water systems.

A defense source said: “Dragon is a very capable warship, so it is natural that it is likely to be part of the UK’s contribution to restoring confidence in global trade through the strait.”

“This step is entirely about readiness, if conditions allow our coalition to begin its work. Britain and France will continue to lead this effort, turning diplomatic consensus into a military option,” the source said.

“Some people like to disparage the British military, but this shows how our Royal Navy is at the forefront of efforts to restore economic stability and security for British families and businesses at home.”

The deployment is said to be defensive in nature and at least 40 countries will also join with their own ships.

An Iranian drone attack was also reported in Kuwait, while another attack sparked a small fire on a commercial vessel off the coast of Qatar.***
