CIREBON NEWS – The number ’86 47′ can be interpreted as an assassination threat against the President of the United States (US), Donald Trump. This case is no joke because it involved James Comey, the FBI Director under President Barack Obama.
The case started with James Comey’s post on Instagram. Comey uploaded a pile of shells in the sand that formed the numbers ’86 47′. The post immediately caused a stir because it was made by someone who once held an important position in the US.
The number 86 in the US is slang for an operation to eliminate someone. Meanwhile, the number 47 refers to Donald Trump as the 47th President of the US.

After it became a hot topic of conversation, Comey immediately deleted the ’86 47′ post. However, the case remains ongoing, if found guilty, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
The US Department of Justice announced that a federal grand jury has indicted former FBI Director James Comey for making threats against US President Donald Trump.
The Justice Department stated that a “reasonable observer and understanding of the circumstances” would interpret Comey’s May 2025 Instagram post, which described the number “86 47” as “a serious expression of intent to harm the president of the United States.”

Comey denied the accusations at the time, saying he was unaware that some people linked the numbers to violence. He deleted the shell post shortly after it came under fire.
“Threatening the life of the president of the United States is a gross violation of the laws of our country,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.
“The country has seen incitement of violence followed by deadly actions against President Trump and other elected officials,” he added.

The indictment comes just days after a failed assassination attempt on Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC, on Saturday.
Trump also survived two assassination attempts during his re-election campaign in 2024. Both Republicans and Democrats accused each other of sedition amid a wave of attacks on officials and activists.***
