JABAR DESK – A promotional event for the English edition of the fifth volume of the book “Xi Jinping: Chinese Governance” (Xi Jinping: The Governance of China) was held in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4). Event participants said the book’s fifth volume serves as an authoritative work for the international community in understanding contemporary China.
China has embarked on a new journey under the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), while Indonesia continues to progress towards its vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. By strengthening strategic synergy and deepening development cooperation, the two countries will not only provide real benefits for their people, but also provide strong momentum for the growth of Global South countries and the improvement of the global governance system, they said.
Ahmad Muzani, Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia, in his speech said the book “Xi Jinping: Chinese Governance” provides a valuable reference for Indonesian diplomatic circles, academics and policy makers. In addition, the promotional event also serves as an important platform to deepen the exchange of thoughts and views between the two countries, he said.
Furthermore, he expressed the hope that more Indonesian officials, academics and the younger generation would read this important work, deepen their understanding of China’s development path and government philosophy, and broaden their perspectives on the world and human development in the future.
Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara, who was also present at the event, said: “During my visit to China, I witnessed how the country has advanced poverty alleviation through a people-centered development philosophy.”
“China’s key concepts and innovative practices in the governance of poverty alleviation, rural development and coordinated regional growth provide a systematic and valuable reference for Indonesia in promoting orderly population resettlement and accelerating development in the eastern region,” he added.
During the event, a number of experts and academics also exchanged views on various topics, including opportunities under China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, joint modernization, and poverty alleviation experiences.
Meanwhile, a number of representatives from the Indonesian village apparatus training program also shared their experiences in studying and participating in exchange programs in China, as well as how they applied these lessons to village governance.
This event was jointly organized by the Information Office of the State Council of China, China International Communications Group, and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia.
Around 200 participants from Indonesia and China, including representatives from the publishing sector, think tanks and media, also attended the event.***
