EDITORNEWS.ID – As is known, currently a humanitarian hero who is a doctor in Palestine and the Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, is still in Israeli custody having been arrested since the end of 2024.
Before Doctor Hussam’s arrest, he was someone who quite often spoke out about the conditions they faced, especially at Kamal Adwan Hospital, he fought for the fate of the patients and medical workers at the hospital, and asked for international protection.
Dr. Hussam also lost one of his sons, Ibrahim, as a result of being a victim of an Israeli attack.
Recently via the official website channel freehussam.org which is managed by the family of Dr. Hussam, the family warned against the detention without charge of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya not to renew and called for his release.
“The family issued this statement to express their deep concern regarding Dr. Abu Safieh unlawfully, following a notification received from the Israeli Military Prosecutor General’s office. A court hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2026,” wrote on the website.

Based on information from this website page, dr. Hussam has not been charged with any crime and has not been told the reason for his detention, and his lawyer has been barred from visiting him for more than two months since his transfer to Ketziot prison in the Negev region.
Even more worrying is, Dr. Hussam experienced significant weight loss and medical neglect.
The website page states that doctors and medical personnel being detained illegally in Israel is a form of moral and legal violation.
The family demands the release of Dr. Hussam and other medical personnel, and asked international parties to intervene to stop the violations committed by Israel.***
