SABACIREBON – The Kuwaiti government accused Iran of being behind ballistic missile and drone attacks that hit a number of vital facilities in the country on Wednesday (3/6/2026), leaving one person dead and triggering increased tensions in the Gulf region.
Kuwait issued a strong condemnation of the ballistic missile and drone attacks that local authorities said were launched by Iran and targeted a number of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure in the country.
In an official statement delivered by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wednesday (3/6/2026), the attack which occurred in the early hours of the morning resulted in at least one person dying, a number of injuries, as well as damage to various strategic facilities, including the Kuwait International Airport area and several diplomatic missions.

The Kuwaiti government called the attack an aggressive act that threatened the safety of civilians and regional stability. Local authorities consider attacks on civilian objects to be a serious violation of the principles of international law and state sovereignty.
According to official information, a number of missiles and drones reportedly hit or damaged important facilities that are part of the national infrastructure. Aviation activities were affected before the relevant authorities took safety measures and operational adjustments.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the country has the legal right to take action in response to the attack in accordance with the provisions of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

Apart from condemning the attack, Kuwait also emphasized the importance of maintaining regional stability and preventing escalation that could worsen the security situation in the Gulf region.
