PONTIANA NEWSK – The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims to have launched an attack on a United States military base in Kuwait in the early hours of Wednesday 3 June 2026. The attack was said to be a response to US military action against a number of Iranian targets in the southern region of the country.
In its statement, the IRGC said that an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz was hit by an air projectile on the evening of Tuesday 2 June 2026, causing damage to its engine. Apart from that, the Revolutionary Guard’s communications tower on Qeshm Island was also reportedly the target of an attack.

In response, Iran admitted to deploying missiles and drones to attack a number of US military positions in the Gulf region, including facilities associated with the US Fifth Fleet.
The IRGC emphasized that any military action against Iran would receive a firm response. It also warned that those involved in attacks on Iran would face consequences.
This statement was made not long after Iranian state television, IRIB, reported a number of explosions around the Suza and Masen areas on Qeshm Island.
Tensions in the region have increased since late February following air strikes launched by the US and Israel on a number of Iranian territories. According to Iranian authorities, the attack killed more than 3,000 people, including a number of high-ranking officials and military commanders.
Although a Pakistani-mediated ceasefire came into force on April 8, efforts to reach a broader agreement have so far failed to produce results.
