PURWOKERTO PORTAL – Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East entered a new phase after Iran proposed 10 conditions for a ceasefire that were called “workable” by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

This proposal is an important point in efforts to defuse the conflict between Iran, the United States and its allies.

A two-week ceasefire was agreed as a first step towards peace negotiations. The agreement includes the opening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which has been the main distribution route for around a fifth of global energy supplies.

The Iranian government through the Supreme National Security Council emphasized that one of the main points in the proposal is Iran’s continued control over the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that Iran was ready to stop defense operations for two weeks if attacks from the United States and Israel stopped.

He also emphasized that the Iranian military would continue to monitor this strategic route during the ceasefire period.

Meanwhile, the United States temporarily suspended its military operations as part of the initial agreement.

This proposal is also said to involve the role of a mediator from Pakistan in bridging communication between the two parties.
