PONTIANAK WARTA – Iran stated that its military readiness is currently at a higher level than before and is ready to face various possible developments in the security situation in the region.
Spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Sardar Mohebbi, said Iran’s armed forces had increased their combat capacity and readiness following the recent conflict with the United States and Israel.

According to Mohebbi, Iran’s ability to maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz is an indicator of the country’s military readiness. He assessed that the United States had not succeeded in achieving its strategic objectives in the region despite deploying land, sea and air forces in the last conflict.
“The best reason for this problem is that despite using its enormous capacity on land, sea and air, America cannot eliminate Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz even for a few minutes,” said Mohebbi, Tuesday 2 June 2026.
He emphasized that Tehran has prepared various steps to face all possibilities that could occur in the future. According to him, previous conflict experiences are important evaluation material in strengthening the national defense system.
Tensions in the Middle East increased after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran last February.
Tehran then carried out retaliatory attacks targeting Israel and a number of United States allies in the Gulf region, and closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the most important energy shipping lanes in the world.
The conflict sparked international concerns about regional stability and the security of global energy supplies. After lasting several weeks, the ceasefire came into force on April 8 through Pakistani mediation.

However, follow-up negotiations held in Islamabad have not resulted in a permanent agreement between the parties involved. Diplomatic efforts to find a long-term solution are still ongoing.
