BOGOR RAYA DAILY – Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta, Michele Cavallaro, called Indonesia’s presence at the 2026 Venice Biennale an important moment for the international art world.
In his remarks at a press conference in Jakarta, Michele said the Biennale is one of the most important cultural institutions in Italy and the world.
According to him, the Biennale is not only known for its film festival, but also has a large platform for performing arts such as theater, dance, music and architecture.

He admitted that he was proud because this year Indonesia was not only present through theatrical performances, but also again had a national pavilion at the Art Biennale.
Michele believes that Indonesia has a very rich performing arts heritage and is worthy of being shown to the international community.
He also mentioned the Bumi Purnati Foundation as an important partner in developing cultural cooperation between Indonesia and Italy.

Apart from bringing two theater productions to Venice, Bumi Purnati is said to be preparing a number of other cultural projects with Italy which will take place in Indonesia in the next few months.
