Pentagon Opens 160 Secret UFO Documents, 'Eye of Sauron' Report Triggers New Panic

Bulukumba News – The monitor lights flashed across the faces of the Pentagon analysts as the red-orange circle illustration appeared on the main screen. The room suddenly fell silent. A journalist in the front row raised his cell phone slowly, zooming in on an image of what official documents described as an “Eye of Sauron”-like object. In another corner, the sound of a keyboard can be heard continuously.

Friday morning Washington DC time, the US Ministry of Defense released 160 documents related to UFOs. The files come from various federal agencies: NASA, the FBI, the US Department of State, and even the Pentagon’s own internal memos. In the midst of America’s heated political atmosphere ahead of the election, this move immediately attracted public attention.

“It’s time for the American people to see for themselves,” said US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth when explaining the reasons for the declassification of the documents, quoted AFP.

One of the most attention-grabbing reports came from an incident in 2023. Three teams of federal law enforcement agents claimed to have seen an orange ball in the night sky that ejected a smaller red object from its center.

In the documents shown, the illustration of the object is said to resemble the “Eye of Sauron” from the film Lord of the Rings, only without the black pupil in the middle.

One of the most convincing cases

Among the pile of digital files made public, the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) characterized the federal agents’ report as one of the most compelling cases. Two other agencies even reported a glowing object that “perched” near the top of the rock before disappearing.

Not all of the document’s contents are dramatic. Most of them are filled with records of technical investigations, radar analysis, and allegations of misidentification of weather balloons and satellites. However, the visual details in the witness report made the UFO issue explode again on American social media.

Hashtags related to UFOs and aliens entered the trending list on platform X several hours after the document was published. Pieces of the “Eye of Sauron” illustration spread quickly, combining old conspiracy theories about Area 51 and alleged secret US military experiments.

Behind the excitement of modern documents, the public also finds old archives that were almost forgotten. One was a December 1947 report about “flying saucers” that had unsettled the US Air Force at the start of the Cold War.

“Continuing reports from qualified observers are a matter of serious concern,” said the old memo, which was previously top secret.

This massive declassification stems from President Donald Trump’s instructions last February. He asked all federal agencies to identify and open files related to UFOs and aliens because of the high level of public interest.

Trump even took a swipe at Barack Obama after the former president joked about aliens in a podcast.

Even so, the Pentagon continues to emphasize that there is no valid evidence of intelligent life outside Earth. In an official report in March 2024, many UAP sightings were said to originate from ordinary activities that were misinterpreted.

But beyond the official denials, one thing was clear in Washington this week: mystery always has a life of its own. And when the government opened a crack in an archive that had been locked for decades, public curiosity moved far faster than any clarification.***
