THE MIND OF THE PEOPLE – Iran submitted a peace draft containing 14 points to end the war with the United States and Israel. This proposal was conveyed through Pakistan as a mediator.

In the document, Iran demands compensation for damage and victims resulting from military attacks. This demand is considered the main condition for peace.

In addition, Tehran requested the lifting of all international sanctions. Iran assesses that sanctions have hampered development and access to global trade.

Iran also demanded the release of assets frozen abroad. This step is considered important to restore domestic economic stability.

Another point put forward was the end of the economic and military blockade. Iran believes that the blockade will only worsen the conditions of the people and prolong the conflict.

In the peace draft, Iran also emphasized the need for non-aggression guarantees. “We want certainty that the attack will not be repeated,” said an Iranian official quoted by Pikiran-Rakyat.com on Tuesday, May 12 2026.

Iran demands the withdrawal of US troops from the surrounding area. The military presence is considered a direct threat to the country’s sovereignty.

One of the most crucial points is the Strait of Hormuz. Iran demands an end to the blockade and offers a new mechanism for regulating ship traffic.

According to Tehran, this new system will guarantee the security of the world’s energy routes. However, the mechanism remains under Iranian control.

Trump Refuses

Regarding the peace draft proposed by Iran, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, admitted that he did not like the agreement.

“I just read the response from the so-called Iranian representative. I don’t like it. Totally unacceptable,” he said on Truth’s social media.

Not only Donald Trump, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran must emphasize that it does not have nuclear weapons. Which Washington views as destroying peace.

Negotiations in Islamabad show sharp differences. Washington is pushing for a two-month ceasefire, while Tehran is demanding a comprehensive solution within 30 days.

Iran believes that the two-month pause will only prolong the conflict without a real solution. In contrast, a 30-day deadline was considered sufficient to end the war permanently.

This peace draft is an important step in Iran’s diplomacy. Even though there is no final agreement yet, the 14-point proposal shows Tehran’s seriousness in seeking a peaceful path.***
